The StaTact workshop was carried out for the National Institute of Statistics (INE) of Venezuela on February 14 and 15, 2023. The workshop was attended by 52 participants from the technical and managerial staff of the INE. The general objective of this workshop was to introduce the StaTact tool to the participants and develop various measurement problems that were of interest to INE.
The measurement problems developed in the workshop related to waste and waste measurement, field operations management, different types of training, administrative data, and record of physical conditions of educational institutions.
81.8 % (33 respondents) found the StaTact tool as a useful tool for addressing data issues using relevant data sources and 97% as a relevant and effective tool to address the lack or planning of data. For most of the responding participants, StaTact and the presented information were new and 84.8% confirmed that they would apply the acquired knowledge and skills.
INE has expressed interest in creating working groups around the StaTact tool to analyze current problems in their data projects after the workshop. It was agreed to continue the follow-up and for UNITAR to provide the necessary advice to the working groups.
